Marina Dutzmann Kirsch is a superb presenter who delivers a powerful program, providing a different perspective on the World War II era, as she shares the moving, personal side of her family and German life during the war. From Latvia to Germany to America, the audience was captivated by her remarkable story of love and survival.

The author's topic was extensively researched and the presentation perfectly timed. Most impressive were the presenter's attentiveness to giving dramatic emphasis to thoughtful statements that allowed time for the audience to "process;" her warmth and ability to "connect" with the audience before her; and the importance of her story and its inspiration.

As organizers, we especially appreciated the author's meticulous preparation, willingness to adapt to circumstances, graceful management of technology, and attention to detail including even the significance of the beautiful dress that she wore. Our audience was completely engaged from beginning to end by both the lecturing and pictorial parts of her presentation, and clearly enjoyed the generous personal interaction. Flight of Remembrance presents a point of view on war that we seldom encounter, and the context that the author provides for "the enemy's perspective" is thought provoking and humanizing; she paradoxically shows clearly how questions of conscience can be cloudy, and that encourages humility in judgment. We heard only very complimentary responses from those who attended.... I wish this book had been available while I was teaching.

Riverwoods Retirement Community, Exeter, NH

This was a very successful event with almost 100 residents in attendance. The audience was captivated by the Dutzmann family’s story of survival in WWII and enjoyed the fact that the author wore an heirloom dress that had been hand-tailored and embroidered by her grandmother in 1930s Latvia.
