SPEAKER  —  AUTHOR  —  GRAPHIC DESIGNER

SPEAKER—
With over 100 Flight of Remembrance events in eleven states since 2012, including a follow-up program about her family's post World War II immigration, Marina is a sought-after speaker who brings a message of hope to audiences, encouraging them to adopt a dream, a goal, and a vision in both pleasant and painful times. Wearing an embroidered heirloom dress handmade by her grandmother in 1930s Latvia, she promotes the continued preservation of WWII memories and a new perspective on the war through this story from the other side in Latvia, occupied Poland, and Germany. Marina is an officer and advanced speaker with the Exeter Speak-Ups Toastmasters club in Exeter, NH as well as a presenter with New Hampshire Humanities, which awards grants for her program to non-profits around the state. Popular venues include libraries, museums, schools and universities, historical societies, retirement communities, churches, civic organizations, and Lifelong Learning Institutes. She considers it a great privilege to connect with audiences of all ages.

AUTHOR—
Marina was born in Zurich, Switzerland on the brink of her family’s odyssey to America in late 1951. More than 50 years later, she embarked on a ”mission of remembrance” to research and record their experiences in her book, Flight of Remembrance, which was published in late 2011 and won a finalist award in the narrative non-fiction category of the 2012 U.S.A. Best Book Awards. Today she shares the universal themes in this story of love, faith, survival, and cherished dreams that became a reality despite the catastrophe of WWII. Whereas the story draws on a prior family history written by her parents, Marina spent years interviewing them in order to expand the material. She also performed in-depth research on many aspects of the war in Europe, including her grandfather’s role as chief inspector of V-2 rocket mass production
